Late in 2015 a collective authorised the establishment of the Action Coordination Group (ACG), to be convened by Ngati Hau Anti-Mining Group and MineWatch Northland – which later expanded to include Ngati Hau Kaumatua Kuia and Ngati Hau Resource Management Unit. The agreement was for direct action to discourage exploration and mining activities at Puhipuhi – and to make it clear that the large majority of tangata whenua and communities were strongly opposed to Mining at Puhipuhi, situated North east of Whangarei.

Local Resisters Warn the New Company Off……
Canadian mining company Full Metal Minerals Ltd announced over the weekend that they have acquired the two Exploration Permits (EP51985 and 60018) at Puhipuhi from Australian company Evolution Mining, subject to approval from the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) Venture Exchange.
The buyer is Toronto Venture Exchange-listed Full Metal Minerals, which has been on the hunt for a new project. 23 April 2018 – Mining News.net
